Salesforce Dynamic Forms is the most exciting news we got since Salesforce announced the option to create different page layouts per profile. After more than 10,000 votes on the IdeaExchange and 14 years since the initial request, Dynamic Forms are finally here. 

Dynamic Forms give you the option to create a user-centric UI that will display the right information at the right time to the right user! Dynamic forms have built-in functionality to show/hide fields according to the criteria you choose. In addition, as an admin, you can decide on the specific fields you want to display without needing to add them to the legacy page layout. 

Unfortunately, not everything is perfect and it’s important to note that Dynamic Forms is still NOT supported for all standard objects. Another limitation is the number of fields that can be added, which is a max of 100 fields. Lack of backward compatibility support for older browsers (like IE11) can also be an issue for some organizations.

123FormBuilder offers a relatively simple drag-and-drop form-building solution. It’s a great option if you are looking for something easy-to-use but negatively it does not possess a robust integration with Salesforce. Here are its pros and cons:

Pros: 

You can collect data with online forms

Their codeless, drag-and-drop platform is simple to use and understand

Conditional logic can be used in your forms

Can be used across Desktop, Laptop, and Mobile

Cons: 

This app has a pretty inflexible layout with predefined options you can’t change

Robust integration with Salesforce would require that you use code

In addition, it is challenging from a development perspective to get this app to integrate with Salesforce in real-time

Many of this app’s plans come with restrictions on the types of Salesforce objects you can work with

This app does not easily cater to custom use cases

If a seamless Salesforce forms integration with Salesforce is what you are after, then you could definitely go with a better form builder.

Formsite for Salesforce

Cons:

Formsite is not known for being easily customizable, you might also find it’s not scalable enough if you are a larger enterprise

Our verdict on Formsite is that it does not do enough to stand out in a competitive market, you can perhaps look further. 

DocuSign for Salesforce

While DocuSign has a solid Salesforce integration, this is not limitless and not all objects and data structures are supported

DocuSign is not the most intuitive tool to use and you might find onboarding takes a little longer

The tool is primarily designed for signing and is not the most robust forms solution

Even though DocuSign integrates with Salesforce relatively well, it has limitations. We vote to rather opt for an app with more specialized form-building capabilities.

FormAssembly is a well-known form-building solution and it doesn’t require you to invest in any custom development or have any knowledge of code. FormAssembly’s Salesforce integration is also quite useful. So what are its pros and cons?

Salesforce and FormAssembly work well together but this is not always seamless to manage and nor is this process limitless. From our perspective, FormAssembly’s big problem is the opposite of DocuSign: whereas DocuSign does not specialize enough in form-building, FormAssembly’s problem is that it is very narrowly form-focused. This means that if you are looking for an end-to-end platform, it is not for you.

Formstack for Salesforce

Formstack is a pretty big player in the world of web forms and if you are looking for a form-building solution, then you have almost certainly come across it at one point or another. So what are its best and worst points?

Pros:

Formstack’s Salesforce integration is above average, including the ability to pre-fill forms with Salesforce data

Nintex for Salesforce

Nintex Forms integrate directly with Salesforce and offer an intuitive form-building interface. What’s more, the Nintex online community offers great support for customers and partners alike if you are stuck implementing your project. So what are the highs and lows of using Nintex: 

Pros: 

Direct integration with Salesforce

Access to support via Nintex Community

You can implement validation rules for your data and work with conditional logic

Works well with mobile, along with Desktop and Laptop

Cons: 

Nintex can become pricey so do look into your budget constraints first

The tool does not lend itself to all use cases and can be challenging to customize

Similarly, if you are working with more complex logic and data sets, Nintex might not perform as well.

Nintex is a viable option but it’s not ideal if you have a specialized use case or more advanced form-building demands.

PandaDoc for Salesforce

Cons:

Google Forms for Salesforce 

Among many other products, Google has its own form solution. It’s important to keep in mind that there is no official Google Salesforce integration. This means that you will have to work with a third-party or invest in custom development to connect Google Forms to Salesforce. So what are its pros and cons?
